Do I need filter fabric with drain rock?
Most French drain installs use filter fabric around the rock to prevent soil from clogging the voids. Your plumber will know whether your application needs it — we deliver the rock, you handle the install.
What’s the difference between drain rock and gravel?
Drain rock is angular crushed stone that’s been washed to remove fines (sand and dust). Regular gravel often has fines that fill voids and reduce drainage. For French drains and septic, always use drain rock — not gravel.
How much drain rock do I need?
Calculate your trench volume (length × width × depth) and convert to cubic yards (÷ 27). Most residential French drains run 12-18″ deep × 12″ wide. Call us with the run length and we’ll size the load.
